• establishing clear and achievable art goals

About your tutors

Julie and Michaels commitment to realism has earned them significant national and international awards. Their love of detail is evident in their work which explores seascapes, portraiture, animals/wildlife and still life. 

Julie is an IAPS Master Circle recipient, Master Pastelist with Pastel Artists of New Zealand and Australia, and is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America. Michael is an Eminent Pastelist of IAPS, a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America,New Zealand and Australia. 

Together, they bring exceptional skill, deep teaching experience, and a passion for helping artists lift their pastel work to the next level.

Students attending the Julie and Michael’s Workshop should also bring the following:

      Basic Materials :

      Bring own range of soft pastel sticks and pastel pencils (Optional)

      An Easel

       Any blending tools currently used

       1x backing board (to tape work to - preferably a landscape format. 12” x 20” approx)

       (Note: Exercise Images will be:  8 x 8.5 inches and 5.25 x 8 inches)

       Tape/Bulldog clips

       HB pencil or Embossing tool

       Graphite Transfer Paper

       Kneaded Eraser

       Pencil Sharpener or knife

       Any extra scrap pieces of Pastelmat paper

       Pen and paper for notes
