- The importance of exposure, composition, and experimentation
Cyanotype is a process where the chemistry, light and materials all play a part sometimes the most interesting results happen when things don’t go exactly to plan.
This workshop is about exploration rather than perfection.
You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with:
LIGHT + CHEMISTRY + WATER + COLOUR + TEXTURE + COMPOSITION
Try different combinations, make mistakes, compare results and discover techniques that suit your own artistic style.
You’ll leave with a collection of experimental cyanotype prints and a better understanding of how to continue exploring the medium independently.
Wet Cyanotype Process
Experiment with watercolour crystals, acrylic paints, alcohol inks to introduce vibrant bursts of colour into a wet cyanotype.
Explore:
- Colour bleeding
- Colour placement
- Sprinkling and layering
- Colour interaction with the cyanotype chemistry
Dry Cyanotype Process
Experiment with additional treatments and sprays such as:
- Apple cider vinegar
- Lemon juice
