About us
A hub for local artists since 1982
Whenever Tui McLauchlan moved to a new place she looked for a local art group and if there wasn't one, she started one. That's how Mana Arts Society was born!
Initially called the Mana Arts and Crafts Society, the group was formed in 1982 by a handful of local artists who were passionate about drawing, painting and the arts. They initially worked out of a church hall on Acheron Road before building the current clubrooms in Plimmerton Domain in 2001.
The Society was formed with the following ideals in mind:
To encourage and promote artists to pursue their talents
To provide a positive and friendly environment such as the clubroom and peer support for members
To encourage sociability amongst members
To further the above objectives by cooperating with kindred clubs and societies throughout New Zealand
